This bowl brings a sense of quiet clarity. The exterior features two distinct textures: the upper half is hand-carved with vertical markings that add rhythm and depth, while the lower half has a softer, more subtle grain pattern—both finished in a gentle sky-blue milk paint that invites touch and brings a calming presence.
The interior, made of reclaimed sycamore, is warm and smooth with delicate grain lines that glow in the light. The wood comes from a tree that once stood in our neighbor’s yard. After years of storms dropping heavy branches onto their roof, the tree had to be removed. This bowl is part of its second life—crafted with care to preserve something once at risk of being lost.
Its gentle curves and medium depth make it ideal for serving fruit, salads, or snacks, or for displaying as a sculptural centerpiece. The food-safe milk paint adds soft color without hiding the natural character of the wood—creating a piece that’s both functional and poetic.
