There’s a quiet elegance in this bowl—the soft ripple texture on the outside draws your fingers in, while the inside is smooth and warm, like the feel of polished stone warmed by sunlight.
The exterior is finished with a subtle wash of milk paint, chosen not just for its soft, earthy color but also for its safety—completely food-safe and rooted in traditional craft. It enhances the texture without covering the natural grain, letting the wood speak through.
Handturned from sycamore wood, this bowl comes from a tree that once stood in our neighbor’s yard. After years of storms, it had to come down. I was honored to give parts of it a second life—letting its story continue, not as something lost, but as something made.
