The feathered serpent, creator of mankind and the universe. A highly revered deity among Mesoamerican cultures such as the Toltecs, Mayans, Aztecs. Throughout history Quetzalcoatl has ben attributed different names, rolls and interpretations. Often referred as the god of wind and rain, it represents life and prosperity.
It is believed that when Hernan Cortez arrived to Tenochtitlan, modern day Mexico city.
Moctezuma believed it was Quetzalcoatl coming back to reclaim his throne and therefore he was welcomed with open arms.
